Lockheed Martin Offers $10,000 STEM Scholarships

Lockheed Martin is offering up to 100 renewable scholarships of $10,000 each in 2024 to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, math, or physics. The exact number of scholarships may vary each year.

The program seeks students who are passionate about their field of study, demonstrate financial need, and come from underrepresented or underserved communities.

To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens and either high school seniors or undergraduate college students (freshmen, sophomores, or juniors) attending or planning to attend a full-time, accredited four-year college or university in the United States.

Applications will be reviewed independently by Scholarship America, a nonprofit organization with over 60 years of experience in managing scholarship programs. They will ensure that applicants meet eligibility requirements and evaluate them based on academic merit and personal achievements, including extracurricular activities and work experience.

Scholarship America will assess financial need using a method called Suggested Parent Contribution (SPC), similar to the federal methodology used by college financial aid offices. This assessment considers factors such as adjusted gross income, parental income, untaxed income, total cash and savings, family size, and the number of family members attending post-secondary school. Family members of Lockheed Martin employees can apply for the scholarship if they meet all eligibility criteria.

Recipients of the scholarship may be contacted by Lockheed Martin’s recruitment team about potential internship and job opportunities. However, internships and employment are not guaranteed, and recipients are not required to pursue or accept positions at Lockheed Martin. All candidates, including scholarship recipients, must apply through the official Lockheed Martin careers website to be considered for any roles.

While college seniors are not eligible for the scholarship, Lockheed Martin offers other opportunities, such as innovation challenges, Lockheed Martin Days on campus, and internships.

To renew the scholarship, recipients must maintain full-time enrollment in an accredited four-year U.S. college or university, continue pursuing an eligible major, and meet the required GPA.

The application deadline is in April. For more information and to apply, visit lockheedmartin.com/scholarship.
